About this event

Make your own campground or lodging reservations.  Two  Moon Campground Site 21 will be where RMSKC gathers to plan the shuttle, but there are lots of other places, including yurts and cabins.   Reserve Wyoming

Glendo is a huge (and sometimes very windy) reservoir.  It has over 50 miles of mountain bike trails, in case you are a multi-sport person.

The Rocky Mountain Canoe Club and Poudre Paddlers will also be doing the North Platte paddle on Saturday.  An excellent description from last year is here:https://www.poudrepaddlers.org/glendo.html
  • We can coordinate the shuttle with them.  Or, if the combined group is too big, we will go in waves.  The put in is not ideal, but doable. The shuttle is long.  Be sure to check in at Two Moon Site 21 Friday evening or very early Saturday morning.
If we have enough folks interested and available on Sunday, July 20,  we can do an exploratory trip or go on the lake.   The Saturday, July 19 paddle will be a float from Glendo to almost Guersney.   This is mostly an easy Class 1 float on the North Platte, but along toward the end there is a fun wave train to play in.  The wave train is easy to avoid and also easy to repeat time after splashy time by using the eddy on river left.  Pot luck at Lighthouse Shelter (Shelter Point) on Saturday night.

Wyoming requires an invasive species sticker and you must have your boat inspected as you cross the border.

If you order online, you need to have a printer so you can print a receipt that is good for 15 days. They will mail you the actual decal within 10 days. You  need a separate sticker for each boat you float in Wyoming. The money goes to trying to keep invasive species out of Wyoming.

2. Wyoming Inspection: All boats have to stop and be inspected as they enter the state. That includes canoes and kayaks. The inspection stations are only open certain hours, so you will have to plan your trips accordingly. This will affect all floats on the North Platte. If you plan on driving up I-25 to Cheyenne, then the inspection station is at the port of entry.  Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There are also three in the Glendo area.
