This is a multi-day event. All participants must be members of RMSKC and the ACA. You must wear a properly fitting and fastened PDF while on the water. No alcohol or recreational drugs while on the water.
Cancellation Policy:
I can cope with cancelations through May 10th. If you find out, after May 10th, that you cannot attend the event you can sell your spot to someone else. Since the total might change depending on the number of people...pay by check to Marsha $300.00 near the time of registration and the balance by June 20th.

Lake Vermilion is a big, beautiful lake. We can paddle, fish, hangout, swim, bring other lake toys. [If you are interested in northern MN but would rather do some easy kayak camping let me know]  Water temperature in July averages 76.5F  Air temperature averages 77F day & 58F at night. The cabin is on is own small island, Braydens Island. We have the island to ourselves. Check out the website   www.springbayresort.com There is a nice deck close to the water. Fire pit and grill.  We can launch from shore. Cabin has electricity and running water. (No AC, I think.)There are lots of public boat launches if we want to explore different areas of the lake.  The resort supplies a boat to us to bring us and our luggage back and forth to the island The cabin is marketed for 4 people but there are more cabins on the mainland if we have the interest...(still available as of April 21st).  A small well behaved dog will be staying with us. Cost based on 4 people is approximately $560.00 per person for the week. The owner says we we can add 2 people to the island for a mere $200.00 ...cost based on 6 people is approximately  $407.00.  Sleeping arrangements: there is a queen bed and a bunk bed. The owner says that we cannot pitch tents for two reasons, they don't like them and it is too rocky. He says we can add a cot to the living room and people can sleep on the deck. (Maybe have small tents on the deck that we leave our stuff in and break them down half way and stash them like we do when moving on Lake Powell). I have mapped 5 possible 6 to 7 mile paddles from the cabin. Longer paddles are numerous.

Slippery rocks.  Any sport carries with it risks, and it is for you to understand those risks and decide whether you are prepared to accept them before undertaking any activity.  Kayaking is no different.  It can be dangerous if not undertaken in a safe manner and should never be done without training, experience, and the correct use of equipment.  The Rocky Mountain Sea Kayak Club cannot accept responsibility for any injury or accident that may occur.

Lake Vermilion is a popular freshwater lake located in St. Louis County, Minnesota. The lake covers an area of 39,272 acres and has a shoreline length of 341.49 miles, making it one of the largest lakes in the state. The lake is also a popular destination for cultural tourism, as it has a rich history and heritage. The Ojibwe people have lived in the region for thousands of years and continue to have a strong presence in the area. Soudan Mine tour is 90 minutes and costs $15.00 Advance reservations are highly recommended, but not required

Travel 2,341 feet down the shaft to the 27th level of the Soudan Underground Mine to experience one of the most unique tours in not just Minnesota, but in the whole nation. (Some might even say the whole world!) You will journey into the mine on authentic, expertly-maintained hoisting equipment, followed by an underground train ride nearly a mile to the Montana stope, the last working area of the mine.

The mine operated for 80 years from 1882-1962 and was gifted to the state of Minnesota to become a new state park in 1965. Tours have been offered safely ever since!
