Enjoy a nice, slow, morning paddle the length of Horsetooth Reservoir while you watch amazing athletes complete an open water 10K swim.  Swimmers come from all over the country.  They need our help to guide them and protect them from motor boats.  Details are at the website:

Orientation for paddlers and swimmers happens on Saturday evening September 7, in Fort Collins.  We can join the race dinner after orientation.  Boats are loaded inside huge trailers and buses take boaters and swimmers to Santanka Cove, on the North end of Horsetooth. This happens Sunday, September 8,  at 5 a.m. at Holiday Twin Drive-In,  2206 S Overland Trail, Fort Collins.

"Five A.M.????" you moan?  Hence the invitation to the slumber party September 7 with early coffee and breakfast at Leslie's place.  It is only five minutes from the Holiday Twin Drive-In.  Leslie has a queen Murphy bed upstairs available.  Downstairs is a long twin bed, a couch and room for two cots or an air mattress or two.  We could even set up the trailer-mounted tent in the driveway.  You will catch a ride back to the Drive In and be ready to drive home at noon or so, or come back to Leslie's and take a nap first.

Actually, launching at sunrise is really neat.  Come out and try it.
